Review:
What a Film! It’s as emotional and as brilliant as the original novel sticking very closely to the story. The casting wasn’t perfect with many of the younger actors looking too old for their intended age of 16 but the plot more than made up for this. It was nice to have a film that sticks to the book for once and does the novel justice (UNLIKE PERCY JACKSON *COUGH, COUGH*). The setting was amazing and I found it great to be able to see what the world looks like outside of my inner imagination. The death scenes were subtle but heart-breaking and it reinforced my opinion in that Tris is one of the bravest protagonists that have ever lived. The dauntless were exciting and brilliant; I would love to join them. The film showing why Tris was so attracted to them perfectly. My only hate was the really long establishing shot and the credits being played at the beginning of the movie – a pet hate of mine.
