Goodreads Description:
About three things I was absolutely positive:

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him - and I didn't know how dominant that part might be - that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

When Bella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret.

What Bella doesn't realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk. And it might be too late to turn back...

My Review:
I began Twilight years ago on my cruise but the cruise ended before I could finish it and it was part of the Ship's library so I couldn't take it home. I baught the book when I got back home but It has been sitting on my shelf for nearly 5 years now. The first thing I noticed was how weired it was that the first time I read this the characters were older then me and now they are 17 - the same age as my younger brother. It made me feel old. I did turn into a little bit of an old woman though as I was outraging the whole time that 'Your too young to be in Love!' and 'How do you understand what love is at 17!'.
However I did enjoy the book, it's epic romance and actions scenes had me hooked and I love a good vampire novel - even if these ones do sparkle (nope, Like many people, I can't get over that either). In the films I always loved Alice and Jasper and that didn't change after reading the book. However my attitude on Bella changed dramaticly. I hate Bella in the early films - I only began to like her in Breaking Dawn - she just didn't seem to do anything, she was just so miserable all the time. However in the book she has so much more depth, she is sassy and happy most of the time. I loved this Bella and now see that they really didn't do the character justice in the movies. Jacob's age shocked me a little, he was just so young in this book! nothing like the film version of the character! I minused two stars for the predicableness of the book and for the annoying expressions of Love at first sight (see my top ten tuesday on annoying romance traits)

Quotes:
“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb…" he murmured. I looked away, hiding my eyes as I thrilled to the word.
"What a stupid lamb," I sighed.
"What a sick, masochistic lion.”
"I had never meant to love him. One thing I truly knew - knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the center of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest - was how love gave someone the power to break you”

In Witchlight, Keller is a shapeshifter. She is searching for a new Wild Power and battling her attraction to the dashing Galen. But it seems he can never be her soulmate ...

My Review:
I adore these books, especially the way that - for a paranormal book - the relationships seem very real. Its also very unpredictable and every character has their own individual personalities that make it feel like each story was written by a different author. I love the way that L.J.Smith never holds back with the plot lines no matter how outrageous and still manages to make them feel very real.  I think Black Dawn was my favorite out of the three stories as Maggie faced the most challenging problem yet and dealt with it so very well. Her soulmate problems were worse as well considering Delos could have killed her at many point, clearly the most dangerous love interest in this series yet! what I love most however is the feeling you get from reading these books. When you read it, all of the stories all feel so separate so when you get a character or theme that overlaps the different tales it is really exciting! I love piecing the story and the major plots together within each story and seeing if my guesses and conspiracy theories over the linking plots all come true or not. I have to deduct a star for this however much I adored this book. I am taking the star away because there is NO SEQUEL AND IT IS LEFT ON AN END OF THE WORLD/APOCALYPSE CLIFFHANGER! Even worse i heard rumors that the sequel may not be written for another 20 YEARS! I feel sorry for the people who have been waiting to find out what happens since 1997! However, even disregarding the cliffhangers the book is worth a read if only for the romance and amazing characters and mini plots!

Quotes:
“In blue fire, the final darkness is banished.
In blood the final price is paid.
Four to stand between the light and the shadow,
Four of blue fire, power in their blood.
Born in the year of the blind Maiden’s vision;
Four less one and darkness triumphs.”
“I’m not soulmates with Morgead.  I can’t be.  We hate each other . . . he hates me . . . all we ever do is fight. . . . He’s impossible and dangerous and hot headed and stubborn . . . he’s crazy . . . he’s angry and hostile . . . he’s frustrating and infuriating and he loves to make me miserable . . . And I don’t ever believe in soulmates.” Huntress
“I will hurt you,” he said.  “Watch me hurt you.”  He bent to her angrily, and she could she the intent in his eyes.  He meant to frighten and disillusion . . . and he kissed her mouth like raindrops falling on cool water.  Maggie clung to him desperately and kissed back.  Where they touched the dissolved into each other.”  Black Dawn
“And just how did she make you two turn around and come back for us, by the way?”
Winnie pursed her lips.  “You heard it.  Volume control.  She kept screaming like—well, I don’t know what screams like that.  You’d be surprised how effective it is.”
“You’re agents of Circle Daybreak; you’re supposed to be immune to torture.” Witchlight

What I Like About The Covers:
I prefer the UK cover with the trademark beautiful swirls and the clear image on the front which is easily identifiable as Eve.The US cover depicts Claire I think and I do like the sky image behind them with bright daylight symoblising the name of the book but I am not a fan of the font it's not as striking as of that on the UK cover.

Goodreads Description:
While Morganville, Texas, is often a troubled town, Claire Danvers and her friends are looking forward to coming home. But the Morganville they return to isn’t the one they know; it’s become a different place—a deadly one…

Something drastic has happened in Morganville while Claire and her friends were away. The town looks cleaner and happier than they’ve ever seen it before, but when their incoming group is arrested and separated—vampires from humans—they realize that the changes definitely aren’t for the better.

It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they’ve never had: hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation—even for the vampires themselves—the truth is far more sinister and deadly.

Now, Claire, Shane and Eve need to find a way to break their friends out of Daylighter custody, before the vampires of Morganville meet their untimely end

My Review:
This review has been a long time coming so sorry for the delay considering I finished this book back in April. I am so, so, so, so, so, so, so sad to see this series go as it has been one of my top 5 since i started reading it a few summers ago. It is also one of the only series that I kept up with in the sense that I baught ever novel as it came out. Rick Riordan's books are the only other series I do that with. I loved every part of this book from the plot to the characters and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how far the characters have come since we first met them all that time ago in Glass House. Claire especially had grown the most throughout the series going from a wimpy but outstandingly clever young girl to a brave, independent and determined (But still outstandingly clever) woman. The idea of the Daylight Foundation was one of my favorites yet as Claire and the gang have fought many supernatural creatures such as vampires and draug but this novel saw them facing the biggest battle yet, but the only threat was humans. I adore the way that you can see how the vampire/human relationship has evolved throughout the series going from humans terrified of vampires, gruding peace to vampires terrified of humans and through to mutual friendship by the finale of Daylighters. It was heart wrenching and touching how Claire and the gang have gone from fighting vampires to putting their lives on the line and fighting their own species for them. The personal battles that Claire, Shane and Eve face throught this as to whether to betray their own kind to save their friends or betray their friends to save their species. However in my opinion they picked the right side in the end, me being a big fan of the vampires Myrin, Michael, Amelie, Jessy, Oliver and a few other minor characters. I loved the drama in this book and there were many times in it where I questioned myself on how on earth they will escape this situation without being killed, and therefore this book had me hooked until the end. I loved the way it ended with an epilogue! I do love a good epilogue! It was so sweet and lovely that I was nearly crying that I had to leave! I loved Caines list of music that was placed at the end of the book with a song dedicated to every main character. The only fault I could find in this series was that there was no novella dedicated to Myrnin. I need more Myrnin in my life and will probably miss him the most as he is my favorite character in any book! Luckily for all of you morganville fans out there, there is a TV show in development. It is independently funded and small budget. A short series with very short episodes but who cares! Morganville is coming to life all under the watchful eye of Rachel Caine!

Quotes:
"You brought me grenades. You are officially the best girlfriend ever.” Shane
"If anyone comes to bite you while I'm gone - well, try not to attract attention. Die quietly.”  Myrnin
“But if these past years in Morganville have taught me anything, it's that sometimes you have to just . . . jump. It's not safe. It's never safe. But sometimes you have to live dangerously.”  Calire

Goodreads Description:
Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

In this breathtaking sequel to City of Bones, Cassandra Clare lures her readers back into the dark grip of New York City's Downworld, where love is never safe and power becomes the deadliest temptation.

My Review:
This Book was stunning! It was intense, romantic, funny and heart wrenching all in one! I love the shadowhunting world they live in and the twists and turns this book took were exceptional! I was shocked at the way Cassandra Clare nearly killed poor Simon off about 3 times in this novel though! so i am glad he survived; after turning vampire, being drained and nearly being turned to ashes i assume he must be feeling a little strange though! I enjoyed the development of Clary and Jace's extraordinary powers and the turn the relationship took was something i would never expect from a YA novel. It was heart wrenching and a tough subject to touch on, Clare really knows how to write a novel! I really can't wait to start the next book, City of Ashes ended with many unanswered questions and i really want to find what the answers are so I am going to read City Of Glass straight away!

Quotes:
“Mom. I have something to tell you. I’m undead. Now, I know you may have some preconceived notions about the undead. I know you may not be comfortable with the idea of me being undead. But I’m here to tell you that undead are just like you and me … well, okay. Possibly more like me than you.”(Simon to Clary)
“Alec looked at her and shook his head. "How do you manage never to get mud on your clothes?"
Isabelle shrugged philosophically. "I'm pure at heart. It repels the dirt.” (Alec and Isabelle)
“Jace slammed his hand down on the stele. “Clary-“
“She said she doesn’t want it,” said Simon. “Ha-ha.”
“Ha-ha?” Jace looked incredulous. “That’s your comeback?”(Jace, Simon and Clary)
“Valentine!"
"You mean father. I despise this modern habit of calling one's parents by their names."
"What I want to call you is a hell of a lot more unprintable than your name." (Valentine and Clary)
